Delete your account

Last updated: 2026-11-07

You can delete your Nightspar account and the data linked to it at any time. This page explains how, what is deleted, and how to ask us to do it if you can no longer sign in.

1. If you can sign in

Deletion is self-service and takes effect immediately:

  • Web app: open Settings, scroll to Danger zone, choose "Delete account…" and confirm.
  • Mobile app (iOS and Android): open the You tab, then Settings, and choose "Delete account…" under Account.
  • Browser extension: it uses the same account; delete it from the web app or the mobile app.

The same account covers the web app, the mobile app, and the browser extension, so one deletion removes it everywhere.

2. If you can't sign in

Send us a request below. We email the address you give to confirm the request comes from the owner of the account, and delete the account once you reply. Nothing is deleted until you confirm.

The email address you sign in to Nightspar with.

We handle confirmed requests within 30 days, usually within a few days. You can also email [email protected] from your account address with the subject "Delete my account".

3. What is deleted

  • Your sign-in account: email address, name, password, and the link to Google sign-in if you used it.
  • Your language pairs, settings, and learning limits.
  • Phrases you saved, the context snippets and page addresses captured with them, your collections, and your imports.
  • Your flashcards, review history, and daily statistics.
  • Your Spar voice-practice history: call transcripts, call reports, and the learner notes Spar keeps about you.

4. What stays, and for how long

  • Feedback you sent: the text is kept while we act on it (at most 2 years), with your account and email removed.
  • AI usage records: unlinked from you at once; the text sent to the AI is stripped within 30 days. Token counts and cost figures, which contain no content, are kept.
  • Dictionary entries shared by all users (a phrase’s generic meanings and pronunciation audio) stay, because they are not tied to you.
  • Encrypted database backups roll off within about 7 days. Server logs are kept for about 30 days and error reports for about 90 days.
  • Our AI providers may keep request data for up to 30 days under their own terms (see the Privacy Policy).

Product analytics are anonymous and never linked to your account, so there is nothing in them to delete. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
